Join our young compassionate team as a full-time Funeral Director Class 1 or 2, where you will play a vital role in guiding families through one of life's most profound moments. This position pays well over industry standards and combines professional funeral service responsibilities with the opportunity to provide heartfelt support and personalized arrangements.

Timmins, Ontario, famously known as the "City with a Heart of Gold," offers a distinct blend of rich industrial heritage, immense wilderness adventure, and warm northern hospitality. The City is booming economically with a projected population boom due to its rich mining. For the outdoor enthusiast, Timmins offers a plethora of lakes and wilderness with an abundance of fishing and hunting, some of the best snowmobile trails in the province, downhill and cross-country skiing among many other attractions and is served by both Air Canada and Porter with numerous 75 minute flights daily to Toronto.

The Role

The role has the successful candidate working with 3+1 licensed funeral directors and numerous part time staff on a 4 week rotating schedule (Monday-Friday) where you work only every 4th weekend with weekdays off in lieu of. There is rotating on-call availability with minimal evenings and transfer call-outs normally covered by part time staff. Flexibility to time off is always something we value.

Responsibilities

- Lead funeral planning consultations, listening carefully to families’ needs and preferences to craft personalized service plans




- Coordinate all logistical aspects of funeral arrangements, including transportation, casket selection, and service scheduling
- Conduct heavy lifting when handling caskets, floral arrangements, and equipment to ensure safe and respectful transfer and setup
- Embalming and preparation work (Class 1)
- Provide exceptional customer service by offering guidance, support, and clear communication throughout the entire process
- Promote additional services such as memorial products or pre-arranged plans through friendly sales interactions
- Oversee the setup and breakdown of funeral services, ensuring all details are executed smoothly and professionally
- Maintain accurate documentation of arrangements, legal paperwork, and inventory records
- Be able to multi task and work under the usual pressures that sometime come with working in funeral service

Requirements

- Valid Funeral Director Class 1 or 2 license with relevant experience in funeral services or related fields (students currently enrolled in an FSE Program will be considered)
- Annual BAO continuing education credits as required
- Provide a clean Criminal Background Check
- Valid Ontario Class "G" drivers license with a clean drivers abstract
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently during transportation and setup activities
- Excellent communication skills with a positive,



empathetic attitude that reassures grieving families
- Speak and write fluent english however bilingualism (english/french) are definite assets when determining final salary
- Ability to work some flexible hours as needed for funeral services
- Demonstrate organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple arrangements simultaneously.
- Have some proficiency working with Windows based systems (Excel, Word, Outlook, Gmail, etc)

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary $80,000-$105,000 (depending on years of experience)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
