At Sayers Contracting, we build custom homes, major renovations, additions and commercial improvements throughout the Lower Mainland and beyond.

We're looking for a Pre-Construction & Estimating Coordinator who understands construction, enjoys working with people and wants to be involved in much more than takeoffs.

You'll help take projects from the first client conversation through feasibility, budgeting, design coordination, estimating and proposal—and ultimately hand them off to our construction team ready to build.

What You'll Do

Sales & Pre-Construction

- Meet with prospective clients and help understand their project, priorities and budget.
- Assist with project feasibility and early-stage preliminary budgets.
- Coordinate with designers, architects, engineers and other consultants.
- Review drawings as they develop and identify scope gaps, constructability concerns and potential cost impacts.
- Maintain communication with clients throughout pre-construction.

Estimating & Proposals

- Complete quantity takeoffs and detailed estimates from construction drawings.
- Develop scopes of work and tender packages for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Review and compare trade quotations and identify missing scope.
- Build accurate project budgets and fixed-price proposals.
- Present and explain estimates and proposals clearly to clients.
- Prepare a complete handoff to our project management and site teams once a project moves into construction.

What We're Looking For

- Residential construction experience and a solid understanding of how projects are built.
- Ability to confidently read construction drawings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Estimating, takeoff, project coordination or construction management experience is an asset.
- Valid BC driver's licence.
