The role of the Medical Laboratory Technologist involves serological testing in Transfusion Medicine, antibody investigation, carrying out quality control and quality assurance in Transfusion Practice, inventory control of blood products, preparation and storage of blood products and appropriate utilization of the Laboratory Information System in Transfusion Medicine.
Communication with other healthcare professionals related to Transfusion Medicine practices. Qualifications 1. Successful completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technologist program 2. Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) in good standing 3.
Minimum 1 year recent experience in Transfusion Medicine 4. Member of the Canadian Society for Transfusion Medicine and Medical Laboratory Technologists or Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Sciences preferred 5. Demonstrated knowledge of Transfusion Medicine practices 6.

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications 7. Excellent communication organizational and problem solving skills 8. Demonstrated ability to work in and foster a team setting
