This is a founding-cohort role for a technically minded person who wants to go deep. You'll pilot robots across a growing range of tasks — inspection, grading, and authentication; picking, packing, and sorting; returns processing; and kitting/light-assembly work. Because you'll work hands-on with the robots, workstations, and software that run them, you'll also be the first line of technical problem-solving when something goes wrong. You'll help define what "great teleoperation" looks like while the role and tooling are still being built, and strong performance is a path toward more complex tasks, deployment support, and system testing.
What you'll do
Pilot robots across a range of evolving, sometimes unscripted tasks
Detect, troubleshoot, and recover from errors live — on the robot side and the computer side (restarting services, reading logs, checking connections)
Work in a Linux environment day to day: using the command line, running and adjusting scripts, setting up and maintaining operator workstations
Collect and annotate data from piloting sessions to support model training
Evaluate ML model performance and report clear, specific findings back to the engineering team
Contribute to a shared library of SOPs — turning what you learn piloting each recent task into documentation the next operator (and robot) builds on
Help improve how tasks and workflows are structured, including small scripts or tools that make the operator's job faster
Work with Claude Code and GitHub as part of the team's day-to-day tooling
Required
A hands-on technical background — e.g. IT support, help desk,
computer or electronics technician, systems administration, or a technical degree/program — or equivalent self-taught experience
Basic working knowledge of Linux and the command line
Some programming or scripting experience, ideally in Python and/or Bash — school projects, personal projects, or automation scripts all count; you don't need to be a software engineer
Comfort troubleshooting computers and hardware methodically, rather than guessing
Professional English, spoken and written — you'll work daily with an international team and give precise feedback to engineers
Full use of both hands/arms; excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
A track record of reliable, high-quality output in a role where consistency matters — not just occasional strong performance
Comfort giving structured, specific feedback on system or robot behavior — you'll be a direct feedback loop into how the tech gets better
Ability to operate with minimal supervision and good judgment about when to flag something up
Reliable on-site/hybrid availability, with some flexibility for occasional travel to support new deployments
Nice to have
Git/GitHub experience
Networking basics (SSH, IP addressing, Wi-Fi/connectivity troubleshooting)
Experience with robotics, electronics, 3D printing, or lab/test equipment
A competitive gaming, esports, or other high-precision skill background — the reflexes carry over directly
No teleoperation or robotics experience required — we'll train you on the robots. What we're looking for is someone who's already comfortable under the hood of a computer.
