About the role: Reporting to the Senior Engineer Supervisor, Geotech the Mine technician will participate in a variety of tasks, such as: Drone photogrammetric surveys, field layout and interaction with operations personnel, Geotechnical safety guidance, systems maintenance, volumetric and CAD work.
The position follows a 4x4 day shift schedule.
To be successful, we require someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who works well as an individual and as a team player. This person has strong analytical, logistical, and problem-solving skills, and can prioritize demands in a fast-paced environment.

In this role you will:
Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Safely work in an active mining environment in close proximity to large equipment during excavation and material placement
Interface between field staff, engineers, planners and geologists.
Conduct photogrammetric (drone) surveys, including the processing and handling of the data.
Conduct physical site surveys and layouts using a variety of equipment and tools.
Maintain Geotechnical equipment and software.
Maintain notes and perform electronic data collection, processing and volume calculations
Ensure instrumentation record keeping, including inventory management, repair scheduling, and system updates of equipment are maintained
Maintain drafting standards, organization, and attention to detail throughout all work stages
Work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment
Requirements
Degree or diploma in Geomatics related field or equivalent experience
Strong understanding of surveying principles, drafting methods, plan preparation, and drawing presentation
Excellent communication, organizational, and technical skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team
Strong computer skills, with the ability and willingness to learn new software and technologies
Ability to work independently and take initiative while also working effectively as part of a technical support team.
RPAS and related systems experience is desirable
Ability to work in a variety of outdoor settings and weather conditions
Physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying survey equipment
Salary: $96,000 - $113,000 CAD/year
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
