Empower youth as a Part Time Child and Youth Counsellor with SOAR in Brantford, Ontario. Provide vital support and guidance in a compassionate, bed-based program for youth aged 14-16.
At SOAR Community Services, we are looking for passionate individuals to join the George House Team in Brantford. This part time role focuses on assisting youth facing complex challenges and includes responsibilities such as life skills development, medication administration, and crisis intervention. By working collaboratively with internal and external partners, you will help youth build resilience and foster their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist youth with daily needs including meal prep and transportation
• Implement safety plans and apply Crisis Intervention Training strategies
• Lead life skills and recreational activities for youth growth
• Support healthy peer and staff relationships and problem-solving
• Complete daily reports and documentation according to program standards
Requirements:
• Diploma in Child & Youth Work or Social Services preferred
• 2+ years experience supporting youth with complex needs
• Tech-savvy with MS Office proficiency
• Valid G level driver’s license required
• Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Welfare Check needed
