This posting will be used to fill one (1) term full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly and ending August 31, 2028. It will establish a 6-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.

This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon .

About us
Integrated Health Services brings together interdisciplinary health professionals to provide accessible, person-centered care that supports the health and well-being of Yukoners across the continuum of care. As part of Community and Primary Care, the branch works collaboratively to deliver integrated services that meet the diverse needs of individuals, families, and communities.

Centre de Santé Constellation Health Centre: a bilingual primary health care clinic serving Yukoners of all ages, from babies to older adults in both French and English.

Dawson City Medical Clinic : a primary care clinic for non-urgent conditions serving people of all ages in Dawson City, Yukon.

Whitehorse Walk-in Clinic : an episodic non-urgent primary health care clinic serving Yukoners who do not currently have a primary care provider.

Yukon Healthy Living Program : a collaborative care team that offers individual and group support for people who have chronic conditions with nurse educators, exercise specialists, certified respiratory educators, dietitians, and pharmacists.

Yukon Midwifery Program : a collaborative care team that provides primary health care for pregnancy, labour (at home or in hospital) and up to eight weeks post partum.

All of these clinics function as multi-disciplinary integrated teams,



with team members including physicians, registered nurses, social workers, pharmacists, exercise specialists, licensed practical nurses, medical office assistants and other social and allied health professionals.

Who we are looking for
Integrated Health Services (IHS) is searching for candidates with project coordination and analytic skills to join our Support Services team. The program development and quality improvement initiatives this position provides includes project coordination and analytical expertise. In this role you will perform dynamic project coordination and monitoring for multiple projects simultaneously. The incumbent will be responsible for the research and analysis needed to help inform each project and will work closely with the Manager, Project & Program Implementation, and the Director, Integrated Health Services, with project reporting, the drafting of Statements of Work, services contracts, and a wide variety of change management initiatives. This includes coordinating activities throughout the project life cycle, defining project goals, developing work plans, and ensuring timelines for deliverables are met.

To be successful in this assignment candidates must have project coordination and policy analysis experience, preferably in a health care setting. You will have had exposure to providing options and recommendations to management for improved system support. The ideal candidate will enjoy working within tight timelines and as part of a dynamic team environment.

Important application and job requirements

Post-secondary degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Health Administration, Political Science, Social Sciences, or a related discipline;

Recent experience coordinating projects and supporting projects through planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting activities;

Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, and/or work standards to a variety of audiences;

Experience supporting evaluation, research, quality improvement, or organizational change initiatives;

Formal training or coursework in project management is considered an asset.

Experience working in or with a healthcare environment would be an asset.

Candidates who have a combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Desired knowledge, skills and suitability
If selected for an interview, candidates should have, and may be assessed on, the following:

Ability to define project goals and work plans with timelines and deliverables to ensure the early integration of projects.

Demonstrated ability to proactively manage changes in project scope, identify risks, and develop contingency plans where appropriate.

Strong ability to clearly communicate both oral and written project status reports

Excellent ability to collaborate and engage multiple and diverse stakeholders (within and outside the territory)

Enthusiastic, highly motivated and are able to produce effective results in accordance with political direction

Strategic focus to understand issues and opportunities that impact health services

Self-awareness and the ability to identify when and how to seek out information and direction from others, and how to effectively support decision-makers within the department and government.

Strong skills with various project management tools.

You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.

WHMIS 2015 within one month of hire.

This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

This position requires periodic in person attendance to various meetings, project site visits, workshops, and conferences for professional development within and outside of the territory, as required.
