Enhance mental health care at the Peter Lougheed Centre as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Emergency Services. Collaborate in a agile team to deliver acute psychiatric support to patients in crisis.
In this role, you will provide critical bedside care while utilizing advanced nursing practices within an interprofessional environment. Your expertise in trauma-informed care and the DSM V-TR will play a pivotal role in patient recovery and management. You will engage directly with patients and contribute significantly to their treatment plans and referrals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evaluations
• Provide direct nursing care for patients in psychiatric crisis
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for effective treatment
• Develop care plans in partnership with patients
• Engage in basic assessments and IV therapy as necessary
Requirements:
• Active or eligible Registered Nurse registration in Alberta
• Minimum of 2 years in Addictions & Mental Health
• Knowledge of Mental Health Act and relevant therapies
• Experience in high-pressure environments
• Capacity to lift and provide physical care
Your skills in psychiatric nursing and crisis intervention will be instrumental in supporting patients at the Peter Lougheed Centre.
