SCOPE OF POSITION
The DietAide is responsible for the assembly, delivery and service of food and suppliesto assigned areas.



Responsible for maintaining all assigned areas and equipmentin sanitary condition.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum completion of Grade Ten (10) required

Experience in maintaining a clean and sanitaryfood service environment

Knowledge and ability to operate and cleaninstitutional equipment

Working knowledge of WHMIS legislation

Ability to attend work on a regular andconsistent basis

Working knowledge of therapeutic dietaryrequirements of geriatric residents preferred

General Duties

Responsiblefor all components of meal service to assigned areas, as outlined in thejob routine

Preparedand assembles special trays, beverages and food according to job routine

Countsand replenishes stock items as required

Maintainsa clean work area

Reportsall necessary repairs and equipment malfunctions

Responsibleto ensure all dietary requirements are adhered to

Ensuresall food handling and HACPP procedures are followed

Cleansall equipment, dishes, pots & pans and areas assigned, according toguidelines

Followsall WHMIS guidelines when using and dispensing chemicals

Receives,stores and rotates food and supplies as required

Conductsinventory of supplies and products as required

Performs other related duties as required

In accordance with current collective agreement between Ocean View Continuing Care Centre and C.U.P.E. Local 1245.

Rotation
Weekends / Days / Evenings / Holidays; May bechanged as necessary to meet the operational requirements of the facility.
