Our client, a renowned boutique law firm with an interprovincial and pan-Canadian practice, is seeking a lawyer with 5 to 10 years of experience to join its team as a Public-Private Partnership (P3) Contract Specialist.
Working directly with the firm’s partners, the successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating contractual agreements related to major infrastructure projects, particularly in the healthcare, education, cybersecurity, data centre and transportation sectors.
Projects are located primarily in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.
Your Role
- Review, analyze and comment on various project agreements, including Project Agreements, Design-Build Agreements, Operations and Maintenance Services Agreements, Interface and Coordination Agreements, and Teaming Agreements
- Identify, draft and negotiate contractual terms to appropriately reflect the allocation of risk among the various parties involved in P3 projects
- Participate in major infrastructure projects across several Canadian provinces
- Work directly with the firm’s partners on various mandates
- Carry out mandates with diligence, rigour and professionalism, in compliance with applicable professional obligations
Your Profile
- Member in good standing of both the Barreau du Québec and the Law Society of Ontario
- Admission to a third law society, particularly in Alberta or British Columbia, considered an asset
- 5 to 10 years of experience, including relevant experience with infrastructure project contracts, ideally in a P3 context
- Experience gained at a national law firm considered a significant asset
- Fully bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken
- Excellent contract drafting, analytical and negotiation skills
- Autonomous, rigorous and highly organized
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and work effectively remotely
