Make a difference as a Full-Time Support Worker with Atira in Downtown Eastside. This role requires compassion and expertise in supporting diverse residents, especially those in the 2STGD+ community.
As a Support Worker, you will report to the Program Manager and assist residents with emotional and practical supports. Your responsibilities include assessing well-being, developing safety plans, and ensuring a clean living setting. Collaborating with community partners and providing advocacy will be essential in this impactful role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support residents with daily emotional and practical needs
• Conduct assessments and liaise with community service providers
• Assist in developing safety plans and conducting safety checks
• Deliver food and help maintain clean living spaces
• Advocate for residents’ needs and choices
Requirements:
• Diploma or certificate in community support or related field
• One year of experience as a support worker
• Knowledge of anti-oppression and intersectionality
• First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certificates
• Familiarity with the local community is an asset
