Drive change as a Group Facilitator in Hamilton with Mission Services of Hamilton. You'll lead therapeutic programs for children affected by family violence using an anti-racist and trauma-informed approach.
The Learning Effective Anti-Violence in Families (LEAF) Group Facilitator is a permanent, full-time position. This role focuses on providing supportive programs for children who have witnessed violence in both group and one-on-one settings. You will develop tailored service plans and collaborate with various community organizations to ensure individual safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and facilitate supportive programs for children impacted by violence
• Offer case management and education on women abuse
• Maintain safety and security of the service setting
• Collaborate with child welfare organizations as needed
• Conduct follow-ups with service users post-program
Requirements:
• Diploma in Child and Youth Work or Early Childhood Education
• Minimum two years in gender-based violence support
• Experience in therapeutic programming
• Strong understanding of intersectional feminism
• Excellent decision-making and crisis intervention skills
