Position Summary
The Autodesk Inventor Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining 3D product models, assemblies, and related design information using Autodesk Inventor. The role supports the development of accurate models and documentation for manufacturing while assisting with continuous improvements to modeling, automation, and release processes.
This is an exciting time to join Toro, with several enterprise-wide technology and process improvement projects planned for 2027, including a major system go-live. The Autodesk Inventor Specialist will have the opportunity to contribute to these initiatives and help support the continued evolution of our design, manufacturing, and automation processes.
Technical / Functional
Create and maintain advanced parametric 3D models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor
Create and modify components within Autodesk Inventor Content Center
Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot iLogic rules for design and workflow automation
Provide input and support for the development and maintenance of Autodesk Inventor API-based automation using VB.NET or C#
Maintain product information, configuration data, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Support the development and improvement of modeling, configuration, and design automation workflows
Ensure models and drawings support manufacturing and fabrication requirements
Troubleshoot modeling, configuration, and automation issues as required
Work with production and other internal teams to resolve design-related issues
Apply CAD standards, templates, and best practices to maintain consistency and accuracy
Training & Support
Provide technical support to production, engineering, and other internal teams
Assist with the development and maintenance of modeling standards, templates, and best practices
Share Autodesk Inventor and iLogic knowledge and provide guidance to team members as required
Provide input and support for continuous improvement initiatives related to CAD modeling and automation
Customer Service & Collaboration
Work collaboratively with internal departments and other stakeholders
Gather input from users to understand modeling, automation, and process requirements
Communicate technical information clearly and effectively
Support solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and ease of use
Education & Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Engineering, Mechanical Design, Architectural Technology, or a related technical field
Advanced working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor
Strong working knowledge of parametric modeling, assemblies, and design intent
Robust working knowledge of Inventor Content Center and iLogic
Working knowledge of VB.NET or C# and the Autodesk Inventor API
Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases considered an asset
Knowledge of Revit considered an asset
Autodesk Inventor certification considered an asset
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience working with Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent demonstrated experience
Experience working with advanced parametric models, assemblies, configurations, and manufacturing drawings
Experience developing or maintaining iLogic rules and CAD automation
Experience with VB.NET, C#, or the Autodesk Inventor API considered strongly preferred
Experience working in manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or a similar technical environment
Experience with façade, fenestration, glazing, or building systems considered an asset
Exposure to SQL, ERP, PLM, or related engineering/business systems considered an asset
Exposure to Revit considered an asset
Skills
Advanced Autodesk Inventor knowledge
Strong iLogic and CAD automation skills
Working knowledge of VB.NET, C#, and Autodesk Inventor API
Basic SQL knowledge
Revit knowledge considered an asset
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Ability to understand technical drawings and manufacturing requirements
Interest in learning and improving design and automation processes
Compensation: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per annum
