Role Description

The Accounting Clerk is a full time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB. This position is responsible for day-to-day accounting support, including recording financial transactions, processing invoices, preparing deposits, and reconciling accounts. The role includes maintaining organized financial records, assisting with the preparation of basic financial reports, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The Accounting Clerk will collaborate with funeral home staff to ensure accurate billing, payment tracking, and compliance with internal procedures.



This role also involves responding to routine accounting inquiries and supporting continuous improvement of financial processes.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with accounting software and related digital tools.
• Strong bookkeeping skills, including accurate data entry and record maintenance.
• Foundational knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
• Ability to assist with the preparation and review of basic financial statements.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with clients and colleagues respectfully.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Previous experience in an accounting or clerical role and relevant coursework or a diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business are assets.
