Join a dedicated team as a Child Welfare Intake Abuse Worker focused on investigating child abuse cases. This role involves crisis intervention, comprehensive assessments, and documentation in compliance with provincial standards.
Reporting to the Abuse Supervisor, the Intake Abuse Worker will assess referrals, conduct investigations, and create safety plans with families to reduce risk. You will also be responsible for initiating community referrals and transferring ongoing services. Your critical skills in crisis intervention will contribute to the safety and well-being of at-risk children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
• Investigate all received child abuse allegations
• Create safety plans to mitigate risks for families
• Coordinate with the Alternative Care Department when necessary
• Attend monthly Child Abuse Committee meetings
• Maintain accurate documentation in relevant systems
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in Child & Family Services or equivalent
• Minimum two years’ experience in child welfare
• Skills in crisis intervention and child protection
• Valid Manitoba Drivers License and access to a vehicle
• Must pass background checks
