Deliver academic support as a Teaching Assistant for the La pratique - sciences de l'environnement course at the University of Ottawa in the Winter 2027 semester. Engage with students through research, preparation, and grading tasks in person.
This new position is for four Teaching Assistants in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. Responsibilities include 20 hours of student contact, 90 hours of grading, and additional duties related to class preparation and research. Ideal candidates will have completed relevant courses and possess excellent knowledge in microbiology and environmental chemistry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct research and prepare course materials
• Assist students and facilitate learning sessions
• Grade assignments and provide feedback
• Proctor exams and support instructor
• Maintain communication with academic supervisors
Requirements:
• B.Sc. in Earth Sciences, Biology, or Environmental Sciences
• Relevant coursework in microbiology and environmental chemistry
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion
• Ability to meet training requirements
