Job Summary: We areseekinga passionate, dedicated, and culturally aware Clinic Manager to lead our Indigenous Interprofessional Primary Care Team.Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the ClinicManager will play a crucial role in overseeing the delivery of primary healthcare services to Indigenous communitiesin our catchment area, ensuring the integration of culturally safe, client-centered, andwholistic care. This position requires an experienced healthcare leader with a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and values, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with an interprofessional team.
The Clinical Manager willmanage daily operationsof the clinic includingsupervisionand performancemanagementofhealthcare professionalsand administrative staff, ensuring effective service delivery while fostering strong relationships with Indigenous community members and leaders. The role involvesproject management, quality improvement,policydevelopmentand the continuous enhancement of healthcare practices that meet the unique needs of Indigenous populations.
Key Responsibilities: Lead, manage, and supervise theclinic staff at the Tyendinaga location, which may include physicians, nurses, mental health professionals, social workers,other allied healthcareprovidersand administrative staff.
Overseeworkload distribution, scheduling, performancemanagementand evaluation of clinic staffand provide constructive feedback.
Ensure clinic staff adhere to best practices, standards of care and regulatory requirements.
Foster collaboration among team members and external partners to drive innovation and improve patient outcomes.
Participate and/or lead various working groups as a representative of the organisation.
Ensure that culturally safe, trauma-informed care practices are embedded in all healthcare services provided to Indigenous individuals and families.
Coordinate the delivery of integrated primary healthcare services, including preventive care, chronic disease management,
mental health support, and community health initiatives.
Support andassistin the implementationand evaluationofboth new and ongoing clinic programs as needed
Collaborate and provide input intoimplementation of clinic protocols, pathways, and guidelines tooptimizepatient outcomes,and enhance care delivery.
Work closely with healthcare providers,ensuring that services are accessible, relevant, and effective for Indigenous patients.
Monitor the quality of care and service delivery,identifyingareas for improvement and leading quality improvement initiatives.
Draft policies for approval by Executive Director
Support implementation ofpolicesand procedures, review policies annually andupdateas necessary.
Assistwith development of funding proposals and applicationsand program implementation.
Advocate for the unique health needs of Indigenous populations and contribute to policy development and healthcare strategies that enhance service delivery.
Manage budget, resources, and staffing needsin collaboration with Executive Director
In collaboration with Executive Director,support review of the quarterly financial and performancereporting to funders.
Collaborate in the development of the annual Quality Improvement Plan data collection and submission.
Promote cultural competency and sensitivity within the healthcare team, ensuring ongoing education about Indigenous health issues, history, and cultural practices.
Ensure that health data collection, reporting, and analysis are aligned with ethical guidelines and Indigenous data sovereignty principles.
Collaborate with external healthcare organizations, agencies,
and partners to ensure continuity of care for Indigenous patients.
In partnership with the Executive Director, ensuringfullcompliance with all applicable legislationimpactingthe clinicsuch as the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Ontario Employment Standards.
Maintain privacy and confidentiality of sensitive informationfor personnel and patients with legislative standards
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field (Master'spreferred).
Current registration with a relevant skilled body (e.g., RN, RPN, SW, etc.).
A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience,2 years of leadership experience preferred
In-depth understanding of Indigenous cultures, history, and healthcare needs.
Experience working in Indigenous healthcare settings
Strong knowledge of Indigenous health issues, social determinants of health, and cultural safety principles.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with diverse teams and communities.
Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment and advocate for Indigenous health priorities.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of relevant healthcare policies, programs, and funding models for Indigenous health services.
Working Conditions: This position may require occasional travel-to communitieswithin the catchment area, for training and/or conferencesand to other healthcare locations.
Flexibility in work hours may berequired, including evenings and weekends, to meetclinicneeds.
Ability tomaintaina close working relationship withExecutive Director includingreceiving direction, guidance and encouragement and discuss plans and priorities for the clinic
