The University of Ottawa is seeking dedicated undergraduate and graduate students for 15 Teaching Assistant roles in the Department of Biology. This position involves assisting during lab sessions once a week, with a strong focus on lab safety and adherence to workplace regulations. Applicants with a foundational knowledge of statistics will have an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with lab demonstrations and student interactions
• Facilitate an engaging and safe learning setting
• Conduct one lab session weekly from 2:30 to 5:20 pm
• Support students in understanding lab procedures
• Uphold university safety protocols and training requirements
Requirements:
• Successful completion of BIO1150 or equivalent courses
• Completion of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops
• Basic knowledge of statistics is a plus
• Available for in-person work during specified hours
• Commitment to a safe and inclusive learning environment
