Become a Teaching Assistant in Organic Chemistry I at the University of Ottawa's Main Campus for the Winter 2026 semester. Engage actively with students and support their learning journey throughout the course.
This position requires assisting students with lab work, preparing coursework, and grading assignments under the supervision of Rashmi Venkateswaran. Candidates need a full year of general and organic chemistry experience and may have to pass a qualifying test if not a Chemistry graduate student. Key Responsibilities:
• Assist students in the lab and classroom settings
• Grade laboratory reports with attention to detail
• Prepare materials for effective learning experiences
• Facilitate student interactions and learning support
• Attend mandatory lab meetings weekly on Mondays
Requirements:
• 1 year in both general and organic chemistry
• Pass a qualification test if necessary
• Successful completion of WHIMIS training
• Strong communication skills in English
• Availability for the Winter semester from January to April
