Sustainable Development and Geothermal Energy Are you looking to apply your mechanical engineering knowledge to sustainable energy solutions during the winter of 2027 ? This internship combines office-based work with field activities, offering hands-on experience in building energy performance and geothermal projects within a multidisciplinary team.
Challenges awaiting you
Analyze building operational data to contribute to optimizing design methods and energy performance
Perform energy simulations and load calculations
Prepare grant applications
Participate in geothermal construction site inspections in collaboration with the engineers responsible for the projects
Conduct in-situ testing on geothermal wells and monitor the results
Support the team in various technical activities related to sustainable development projects
Perform any other related duties in support of ongoing projects
Be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Engineering, or a related field
Hold a valid ASP Construction certification
Demonstrate a strong interest in sustainable development and energy systems
Demonstrate the ability to work both in an office and on construction sites
Hold a valid driver’s licence and have access to a vehicle
Demonstrate resourcefulness and an aptitude for hands-on work
Demonstrate autonomy, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills
Demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
Have knowledge of load calculation software, such as TRACE (asset)
Have knowledge of energy simulation software such as IESVE and eQuest (asset)
Have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
