The University of Ottawa is looking for two Teaching Assistants for PHY2390 Astronomy, set for the Winter Semester of 2027. Responsibilities include grading assignments, conducting office hours, and proctoring exams. This role requires four years of University-level Physics or an equivalent background to effectively assist in student learning and course management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Grade assignments, tests, and midterms up to 45 hours
• Assist students with questions during office hours for 10 hours
• Proctor midterms and finals, ensuring academic integrity
• Support additional tasks related to course requirements for 6 hours
• Communicate effectively with students to enhance their learning
Requirements:
• Completion of four years of University-level Physics
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students
• Previous experience in tutoring or teaching is a plus
• Commitment to a supportive learning setting
