At the Sunset Strip Veterinary Clinic , we’re looking for a compassionate, dependable, and adaptable Veterinary Assistant to join our team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working directly with animals, supporting Veterinarians and RVTs, and helping keep a busy clinic running smoothly. Our hospital offers state-of-the-art medical equipment, the assistance of experienced support staff, and the pleasure of working with trusted clients to provide compassion and the best quality care for their pets. Key Responsibilities:
Assist Veterinarians and RVTs with patient care, treatments, and procedures
Safely handle and restrain animals when required
Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
Clean, disinfect,
and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and equipment
Assist with patient admissions and discharges
Monitor patients and communicate observations to the veterinary team
Prepare and organize supplies and equipment
Maintain accurate patient information and complete required data entry
Assist with laboratory samples and other clinical tasks within the scope of the role
Help maintain appropriate inventory and restock clinical areas
Support the veterinary team with day-to-day clinic operations
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital workplace
Provide compassionate and professional care to every patient
Qualifications:
Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital is an asset
Comfortable handling cats and dogs of varying sizes and temperaments
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities
High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability
Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable using computers and veterinary practice management systems
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a veterinary team
Reliable, punctual, and willing to take initiative
