Work Term: Permanent Work Language: English Hours: 34 hours per week Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years Work site environment Dusty Hot Noisy Work setting Manufacture Tasks Interpret welding process specifications Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC) Determine weldability of materials Operate hoisting and lifting equipment Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment Train or assist in the training of other workers Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards Co-ordinate work activities with other departments Co-ordinate, assign and review work Establish work priorities and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met Supervision Welders Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Occupational Health and Safety Certificate CPR Certificate Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate Type of materials Stainless steel Steel, iron and heavy metals Welding techniques Resistance,
