Lead waste management initiatives as the Director of Waste Characterization at our Chalk River site. Drive the characterization process and implement strategies to ensure safety and compliance.
In this permanent, on-site role, you will oversee the waste characterization process, managing sampling, packaging, and analyses. Utilize NDA and NDE methods while developing schedules and documentation, including Waste Characterization Plans and Operating Procedures. This position focuses on aligning activities with mission milestones and enhancing the overall waste management strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage waste characterization processes for effective disposal
• Develop and implement waste certification training programs
• Analyze data using specialized software for accurate reporting
• Foster a strong nuclear safety culture among staff
• Communicate program status to stakeholders and community
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or business required
• 10-15 years of relevant experience needed
• Solid understanding of NDA and NDE systems
• Ability to obtain Canadian security clearance
• Willingness to relocate to Chalk River site
