Provide pension administration management and services for Westcoast's Registered Pension Plan (RPP), and
Supplemental Employee Retirement Plan (SERP) departments.
Pension Consulting Responsibilities
Perform ongoing guidance, consultation and administration services to pension clients and plan members.
Ensure consulting services and communications provided to clients are of the highest quality and provide differentiated value, meeting deliverable deadlines.
Liaise and perform ongoing communications with all pension plan stakeholders including clients, members, trustees, advisors, investment managers, legal counsels, custodians, CRA and pension regulators.
Assist in preparing the pension administration services component of proposals in response to RFP and scope of work as well as fee quotations for pension administration-related projects.
Consult with legal counsel concerning interpretation of pension legislation, as needed.
Mentoring and Training Responsibilities
Participate in H/R management of departmental staff.
Provide mentoring and training sessions for junior staff.
Workflow and Database Development Responsibilities
Identify efficiencies and improvements in workflow for the department(s).
Apply your knowledge and assistance to the development and testing of new tools and improved systems, specifically to the development of tools and procedures for actuarial calculations and income tax related calculations.
Other / Departmental Support
Act as a resource and support person for other departments within the Company.
Monitor changes in the pension industry and update team members, as needed.
Participate in leadership and business strategy planning meetings.
Salary and Perks
Compensation will be in therange of $88,000 – $110,000, comprised of $80,000 - $95,000 base salary plus bonus of 10% to 15% and based on relevant education and work experience. In addition, the Company offers a hybrid work arrangement, employer matching profit share plan, Health Spending Account, training allowance, paid professional and association dues, paid tuition costs and annual vacation.
Requirements
Hold a CEBS designation.
Ideally hold a degree in mathematics, administration or have other relevant training.
Have minimum of five years defined benefit pension administration experience.
Have experience in performing and reviewing pension calculations.
Highly knowledgeable about provincial and ITA pension rules for different pension plan scenarios.
Excellent analytical thought process.
Excellent attention for detail.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent ability to prioritize and manage responsibilities and tasks.
