Total Group of Companies Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Payroll Administrator to join our accounting and admin team at our head office in Red Deer.
Payroll will be the primary focus of this role, with additional accounting and administrative responsibilities as needed.
The position may evolve over time depending on business needs and the strengths of the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly, day-rate, and salaried employees.
Review timesheets, overtime, vacation, sick time, deductions, and other payroll entries for accuracy.
Maintain employee payroll records and process payroll-related changes.
Complete payroll reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Assist with T4s, T4As, ROEs, and other year-end payroll requirements.
Respond to payroll questions and follow up on missing or incomplete information.
Support AP, AR, employee expenses,
credit card transactions, reconciliations, and other accounting tasks.
Maintain organized payroll and accounting records.
Provide administrative support to the Controller and accounting team as required.
The right candidate must possess the following experience to be considered for this role: 2+ years of experience in payroll, accounting administration, bookkeeping, or a related role.
Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation to commute to our Red Deer County office Monday to Friday.
Working knowledge of Canadian payroll processes and requirements.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Robust organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage deadlines and changing priorities.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of assigned tasks.
Experience with payroll/accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Assets: Experience with Rippling or Xero considered an asset. PCP designation or accounting education considered an asset
