Make a meaningful impact as a Peer Welcomer at the Brampton HART Hub with Canadian Mental Health Association Peel Dufferin. Utilize your lived experience to provide empathetic support to clients facing mental health, addiction, and homelessness issues.
In this full-time role, you'll be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team focused on creating an inclusive workplace. Your firsthand knowledge will drive holistic support for walk-in clients and empower them on their recovery journeys. You will also assist with front desk duties and maintain coordination within the HART Hub.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the first point of contact for clients
• Use evidence-based tools for individual care plans
• Manage common spaces and basic needs services
• Facilitate recovery and social-recreational groups
• Update documentation within 24 hours of contact
Requirements:
• Lived experience of addiction and willingness to share
• Secondary School completion required
• Relevant experience in mental health/addictions sector
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• Language proficiency in regional languages is a strong asset
