Your role
Complete structural analysis, design, and detailing of building structural elements
Complete design and preparation of contract documents and reports
Prepare engineering calculations, sketches, drawings, and specifications
Interpret architectural and engineering drawings and coordinate structural requirements with the project team
Apply engineering principles, building codes, standards, and construction practices to project work
Meet project timelines and milestones while following company procedures and protocols
Work both independently and collaboratively with engineers, designers, and other project team members
Other related functions
What we are looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; a specialization in Structural Engineering or a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an asset
1-3 years of structural engineering work experience
Basic understanding of structural materials, detailing, construction practices, and applicable codes, acts, and regulations
Knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAFE, S-FRAME, or similar tools is an asset
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Programming experience or knowledge of programming languages is an asset
Ability to understand and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
Ability to work autonomously as well as within a collaborative team environment
Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to balance competing priorities and meet project requirements and timelines
Strong problem-solving skills with a professional and ethical approach
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, collaborators, clients, and stakeholders
Working towards obtaining a Professional Engineer designation
French and English language abilities are an asset
Security clearance required; new employees must work towards obtaining PSC Secret Level 2 clearance, with potential future requirements for higher levels of clearance
Perks and advantages
Yearly salary: $70,000–$75,000 depending on experience
Vacation: 10 days per year, or 15 days per year for individuals with more than 3 years of comparable experience
