JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the press department supervisor and working closely with the Lead Press Operator, the offset press operator helps prepare, operate, and maintain printing equipment (sheet-fed or web presses, depending on the plant).
The successful candidate supports make-readies, job changes, and press supply activities to ensure safe, efficient production that consistently meets quality standards. YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in equipment preparation and installation of printing plates.
Perform required make-ready activities and equipment adjustments.
Ensure continuous supply of paper, inks, solvents, and other consumables to the press.
Perform rigorous quality checks throughout production.
Actively participate in job changes and the various stages of production.
Contribute to preventive maintenance, cleaning, and keeping equipment in good working order.
Help identify and troubleshoot issues to optimize press performance.
Collaborate with team members to achieve quality and productivity targets.
Replace the Lead Press Operator when required and demonstrate a willingness to learn in order to progress toward that role.
Ensure clear and effective communication during shift handovers.
Follow and promote occupational health and safety procedures. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma (DES).
Training in printing or relevant experience in industrial production.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an offset press operator, on sheet-fed or web presses (the type of experience determines plant placement).
Basic knowledge of the printing process and hands-on experience handling ink.
Mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in industrial equipment.
