Educational Assistant | Tentative Start Date: October 13, 2026Full-Time Temporary (1.0 FTE) | Holy Cross Elementary School

Lakeland Catholic School Division is currently seeking a full-time Educational Assistant to support students at Holy Cross Elementary School in Cold Lake, AB for the 2026-2027 school year.

This is a temporary full-time position that is expected to last until June 2027 with the possibility of extension.

Serving students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, this position requires a skilled and compassionate professional with a strong background in supporting adolescents—particularly those with behavioural needs, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or other complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities: Provide direct support to students with diverse learning needs in classroom and individual settings

Implement behavioural support strategies aligned with student support plans

Assist with emotional regulation, engagement, and independence skills

Work collaboratively with teachers and inclusive education teams in a Catholic school setting

Maintain student dignity and a safe, respectful learning environment.

Required Qualifications: Minimum Level 1 Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certification or willingness to obtain (Level 2 or 3 preferred)Demonstrated experience supporting students with complex learning needs

Strong working knowledge of behavioural strategies and intervention techniques





Ability to maintain professionalism and emotional regulation in agile situations

Alignment with the values and mission of Catholic education.

Additional Assets:NVCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention), First Aid, or similar certification (or willingness to obtain)Familiarity with assistive tech and alternative learning tools

Strong interpersonal, documentation, and teamwork skills

French language skills are considered an asset, but are not required for this position
