The University of Victoria invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the School of Social Work starting July 1, 2027. Bring your expertise in social work practice and research to foster decolonization and social justice.
This position includes teaching in both graduate and undergraduate programs via online and on-campus formats. The candidate should possess a PhD or be ABD, with dedication to intersectionality and decolonial equity in their teaching. Responsibilities include supervising students and contributing to the administrative functions of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach graduate and undergraduate social work courses
• Supervise graduate students and enhance their academic growth
• Conduct impactful research aligned with social justice
• Participate in school administration and team-oriented projects
• Engage in community activism that supports inclusive pedagogy
Requirements:
• PhD or ABD with Social Work degree
• Minimum 5 years post-BSW/MSW practice experience
• Proven commitment to decolonization in education
• Experience in face-to-face and online teaching
• Emerging research program relevant to Social Work
