Job Summary: Schuyler Farms is a mid-to-large-scale, privately owned agricultural organization with an integrated orchard-to-customer supply chain located in Norfolk County, Ontario. Our operations span approximately 3,900 acres of agricultural production, including:· Approximately 1,900 acres of apples, cherries, and pears· Approximately 2,000 acres of corn and soybeans· Approximately 100 full-time employees· A workforce that grows to approximately 400 seasonal employees during peak seasonThe scale and diversity of our operations create a dynamic and operationally complex business environment encompassing agricultural production, storage, distribution, retail, seasonal workforce operations, and supporting corporate functions.We are seeking a Vice President of Finance to join the senior leadership team and help guide the organization through its next phase of growth and development.This role combines financial leadership, enterprise financial governance, and strategic partnership, helping the organization make informed decisions, allocate capital effectively, manage financial risk, and achieve its long-term objectives.This is more than a traditional finance role. The Vice President of Finance is expected to understand how the business operates and how operational performance drives financial results.The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A;), cash flow management, financing, banking relationships, capital planning, financial controls, and business performance analysis, while taking an active interest in the day-to-day realities of the operation.The ideal candidate is practical, curious, solutions-oriented, and accountable. They ask thoughtful questions, exercise sound judgment, communicate financial information clearly, and work alongside operational leaders to translate complex information into actionable insights.As Vice President of Finance, you will lead all aspects of the finance function and serve as the executive owner of the organization’s financial strategy, governance, controls, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, FP&A;, cash flow management, financing, and capital planning. You will provide the President, Executive Team, and Board with the financial insight and business analysis required to support strategic and operational decision-making.Success requires a combination of financial expertise, business acumen, executive judgment, and leadership. They are aware, act appropriately, ask good questions, and listen to understand.Our Purpose – Building better people who build a better business and community.Our Niche – Excellence through people, systems, and execution.Role and Accountability:Executive & Organizational:· Serve as the executive owner of the organization’s financial strategy, governance, controls, and reporting framework.· Provide the President, Executive Team, and Board with timely financial reporting, analysis, forecasts, risk assessments, and recommendations.· Lead the annual financial planning process and ensure alignment between strategic priorities, departmental operating plans, budgets,



and capital requirements.· Establish financial expectations and accountability across departments and support leaders in understanding the financial impact of operational decisions.· Identify and escalate material financial, liquidity, compliance, and business performance risks.· Ensure appropriate financial policies, internal controls, approval authorities, and reporting standards are established, maintained, and consistently followed.· Provide financial leadership for major investments, capital expenditures, financing arrangements, and strategic business decisions.Financial Leadership:· Lead all accounting, financial reporting, and finance department activities.· Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.· Maintain effective financial controls, compliance, and reporting processes.· Oversee audit preparation, year-end requirements, and external reporting requirements.· Own and continuously improve financial systems, processes, financial data integrity, reporting structures, and decision-support capabilities.· Provide clear, accurate, and actionable financial information to the President, Executive Team, Board, and departmental leaders, as appropriate.Financial Planning & Analysis:· Lead the annual budgeting process in partnership with departmental leaders.· Develop and maintain monthly and quarterly forecasts and cash flow forecasts.· Conduct budget-to-actual and variance analysis and ensure material variances are understood, explained, and addressed.· Develop financial models to support business decisions.· Lead capital investment planning, evaluation, and financial requirements planning.· Support long-term financial planning and strategic initiatives.· Improve forecasting accuracy and financial visibility across the organization.Business Performance & Analytics:· Develop and monitor meaningful financial and operational KPIs.· Analyze labour, inventory, crop yields, production performance, storage utilization, pricing, sales, and customer profitability.· Identify trends, risks, and opportunities affecting business performance.· Help leadership understand the financial impact of operational decisions.· Improve the organization’s use of data to support decision-making.· Provide analysis that drives profitability, efficiency, cash flow, and sustainable performance improvements.Banking, Treasury & Capital Management:· Manage banking and lender relationships.· Maintain financing facilities and debt arrangements.· Monitor liquidity, working capital, debt levels, covenant requirements, and borrowing capacity.· Prepare financial information and forecasts required by financing partners.· Lead financial analysis supporting capital allocation and financing decisions.Operational Partnership:· Work closely with operational leaders across the business.· Develop a strong understanding of the operational drivers that influence financial results.· Spend time in production, storage, retail, and operating environments to gain firsthand knowledge of the business.· Provide practical analysis and recommendations that support improved performance.· Challenge assumptions when facts and data support a different conclusion.· Partner with department leaders to establish budgets, forecasts, financial requirements, and accountability for financial performance.Retail Oversight:· Provide executive oversight of the Retail Team and ensure retail activities align with organizational financial and operational objectives.· Monitor retail financial performance, margins, inventory, labour, pricing, and other relevant performance measures.· Ensure appropriate financial controls, reporting, and accountability are maintained within retail operations.· Work with retail leadership to identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, customer value,
