Health Sciences North (HSN) is seeking an innovative individual for the position of Physiotherapist to perform assessments in conjunction with the Physician Specialist for individuals/injured workers with upper-extremity, lower-extremity, back and neck injuries, including some amputations. They would also develop and provide appropriate treatment services as part of the Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity, Amputee and Prosthetics, and Back and Neck Specialty Clinics.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. However, candidates expected to obtain registration in the next few months and recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.

We are looking for someone with a minimum of six (6) months’ experience in evidenced-based approach to service delivery. Preference will be given to candidates that possess experience working in treating upper-extremity, lower-extremity, back and neck injuries.

As of January 2026, Expansion of “As of Right” legislation allows more regulated health professionals moving to Ontario from another province to practice right away while they await registration with the regulatory body in Ontario. DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Specialty Clinics is a program within HSN that receives referrals through WSIB for assessment and treatment of injured workers of Northern Ontario.



We are a multidisciplinary team which includes (but not limited to) Surgeon Specialists, Physiatrist, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Kinesiologist, Certified Orthotists and Certified Prosthetist. We take a team approach to best patient care to ensure patients receive the right care, at the right time.

REHABILITATION PROFESSIONALS INCENTIVE GRANT
The incentive grant program offers taxable incentive grants of up to $5,000 per eligible year,



to a maximum of $15,000 paid over a three-year period to physiotherapists who establish their practice in Northern Ontario and accept full-time positions which are fully funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) and which are approved by the Northern Health Programs (NHP). In order to be eligible for this incentive grant, the NHP must approve the application before the applicant establishes his/her practice. More information regarding this grant can be foundhere.
