About the Role Our client is seeking an analytical and insightful Agricultural Economist to join their team in Kimberley . This role focuses on analyzing economic trends, market dynamics, and policy impacts within the agricultural sector, providing critical data and insights to support strategic decision-making for farming operations and industry stakeholders. You will conduct research, develop economic models, and offer recommendations on market access, financial planning, and investment opportunities. The ideal candidate possesses a strong quantitative background and a deep understanding of the economic forces shaping agriculture in the Northern Cape and South Africa.
Key Responsibilities Analyze agricultural market trends, commodity prices, and supply chain dynamics.
Conduct economic research on agricultural production, consumption, and trade.
Develop financial models and forecasts for agricultural businesses and projects.
Assess the economic impact of agricultural policies and programs.
Provide economic advisory services on market entry, risk management, and investment strategies.
Prepare detailed economic reports, presentations,



and policy briefs.
Requirements Master's degree or Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in agricultural economics research or analysis.
Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS) and econometrics.
Strong understanding of agricultural markets, policy, and international trade.
Excellent analytical, quantitative, and report-writing skills.
Experience with economic modeling and forecasting techniques relevant to the Kimberley agricultural context.
