Enhance visual function in children as a skilled Orthoptist at the Royal Alexandra Hospital Eye Institute of Alberta. Focus on advanced eye function measurements and non-surgical management.
As a vital part of the ophthalmic team, you will work closely with pediatric ophthalmologists and oculoplastic surgeons. This role requires specialized knowledge in sensorimotor evaluation and binocular vision disorders. You will perform various vision tests, lensometry, and document patient histories while participating in research and educational activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct vision screenings for adults and children
• Perform a-scan biometry and keratometry
• Document ocular, medical and family histories
• Maintain and stock instruments and supplies
• Assist in educational rounds and research studies
Requirements:
• Completion of an accredited orthoptic course
• Minimum three years as an Orthoptist
• Current CPR certification
• Fluent in medical terminology and pharmacology
• Robust communication and organizational skills
