About the Role: The Banquet Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the successful planning, coordination, and execution of banquet events within the hospitality and tourism industry. This position ensures that all events meet the highest standards of service, quality, and guest satisfaction, while maintaining efficient operational workflows. The Banquet Manager collaborates closely with culinary teams, including Executive Chefs, to manage food costs and control budgets effectively. They lead and train banquet staff to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a service-oriented environment. Ultimately, the role is responsible for driving revenue growth through flawless event delivery and fostering strong client relationships across diverse event types.
Minimum Qualifications: Proven experience in banquet or event management within the hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of hospitality management principles and banquet service standards.
Demonstrated ability to manage food costs and implement cost control strategies effectively.
Experience working collaboratively with culinary teams, including Executive Chefs.
Excellent customer service skills with a service-oriented approach.
Ability to lead, train, and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in pre-opening banquet operations or new venue launches.
Certification in hospitality management or related fields.
Familiarity with room service operations and integration with banquet services.
Advanced training in customer service or hospitality leadership.
Knowledge of Canadian health and safety regulations specific to food service.
Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and oversee all banquet events from pre-opening preparations through to event completion, ensuring seamless execution.
Coordinate with the Executive Chef and kitchen staff to manage menu planning, food quality, and cost control measures.
Supervise and train banquet service staff to uphold high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
Manage room setups, service flow, and logistics to optimize guest experience and event success.
Monitor and control food and labor costs to meet budgetary goals while maintaining service excellence.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and satisfaction.
Implement customer service training programs to enhance team performance and guest engagement.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations throughout all banquet operations.
