Take charge as an Airport Fire Captain with the Government of Yukon in Whitehorse. Lead emergency response and fire safety operations at the Erik Nielson Whitehorse International Airport.
Join the Department of Highways and Public Works in a full-time, permanent role focused on aircraft fire rescue, passenger safety, and fire prevention. You will command incident operations, ensure effective evacuation of customers, and conduct routine maintenance on firefighting equipment to support the airport’s safety efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead aircraft fire rescue operations and incident command
• Ensure passenger and crew safety during emergencies
• Conduct fire prevention activities and training for staff
• Maintain firefighting equipment and gear as needed
• Implement fire, health, and safety programs at the airport
Requirements:
• Experience in emergency response and firefighting
• NFPA 1001 Level 1 and NFPA 1003 certifications
• Standard First Aid and CPR-C/AED certification
• Valid Class 3 driver's license with air endorsements
• Robust leadership skills and the ability to work under pressure
