**Job Title: Assembler**
**Job Description**
The
Assembler independently completes full product builds from start to finish while providing hands-on leadership to a small team in the work area.
This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and interpret shop and technical drawings, and experience guiding others through complex assembly processes.
The Assembler focuses on full product assembly rather than repetitive production line work and plays a key role in ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency in the manufacturing shop.
**Responsibilities**
Complete full product builds from start to finish, ensuring all components are assembled accurately and to specification.
Lead and oversee a team of 23 assemblers in the work area, providing direction, support, and guidance throughout the build process.
Read, interpret, and work from shop drawings, blueprints, and technical drawings to plan and execute assembly tasks.
Explain and interpret technical drawings to team members so they understand build requirements and assembly steps.
Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively to perform assembly and fabrication tasks.
Perform mechanical assembly work that involves working with wood and related materials, including basic carpentry, construction, and crating tasks.
Monitor the quality of assembled products, verifying measurements, fit, and finish against technical specifications and drawings.
Coordinate workflow within the assigned area to meet production schedules, deadlines, and customer requirements.
Support a collaborative, team-oriented culture by communicating clearly, sharing knowledge, and assisting coworkers when needed.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and bright work area in the manufacturing shop.
Participate in overtime work as required to meet production demands, including occasional Saturday shifts.
Handle materials and components safely, including lifting items up to 50 lbs as part of regular assembly activities.
**Essential Skills**
At least 3 years of experience performing full product assembly, completing builds from start to finish rather than working on isolated tasks in a production line workplace.
Proficiency in reading, understanding, and working from shop drawings, technical drawings, and blueprints.
Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and clearly explain build requirements to other team members.
Experience managing or leading others in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude supported by formal training such as an engineering, technician diploma, carpentry program, or cabinetmaking education.
Hands-on experience using a wide range of hand and power tools in an assembly or carpentry setting.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as part of daily work.
Experience working with wood, including basic carpentry, construction, or crating.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of complete product builds.
Solid attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work in line with technical specifications.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Formal technical or mechanical training such as an engineering, technician diploma, carpentry program, or cabinet making qualification.
Experience in blueprint reading and interpretation in a manufacturing or construction environment.
Experience in carpentry or cabinet making that supports precise, detail-oriented assembly work.
Comfort working in a bright, clean manufacturing shop with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
Flexibility to work either day or afternoon shifts and to participate in overtime when needed, including occasional Saturdays.
Strong communication skills to coordinate with assemblers, engineering, and sales teams located at the facility.

Day shifts run from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and afternoon shifts run from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, Monday to Thursday, with the expectation of being available for overtime when needed, including occasional Saturdays.
Work involves regular use of hand and power tools, handling wood and other materials, and lifting up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced but supportive manufacturing environment, with a bi-weekly attendance bonus structure in place.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mississauga, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
