We currently have an exciting opportunity with our client for a Global Human Resources Manager based in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. This hands-on role supports HR operations across multiple countries and offers the opportunity to help shape the function as the company grows.
Responsibilities: Develop and maintain practical HR policies, procedures, SOPs, and workflows for teams across multiple countries.
Build consistent, scalable HR processes while accounting for local requirements and the needs of a growing business.
Coordinate talent management activities, including onboarding, international mobility, performance management, and workforce planning.
Manage day-to-day HRIS and payroll processes, working with internal stakeholders and external providers to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Help ensure HR data and processes meet applicable privacy requirements, including GDPR and PIPEDA where relevant.
Review HR operations regularly to identify gaps, improve processes, and maintain reliable records and administrative standards.
Apply Ontario employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act,
and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and monitor relevant legislative changes.
Work with local legal counsel, regional stakeholders, and service providers on employment-law matters in other countries.
Coordinate compliance with local employment standards, statutory benefits, termination protocols, and other applicable requirements.
Manage employee relations matters and workplace investigations; support cross-border organizational changes with appropriate specialist guidance.
Coordinate international contractor, Employer of Record (EOR), and mobility arrangements with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Support compensation and total rewards practices using local market information and business needs.
Coordinate administration of equity or share option programs, where applicable, with finance, legal, and external advisers.
Manage benefits administration in partnership with regional brokers and providers.
Review benefits programs for coverage, cost, and local compliance.
Maintain workplace health and safety standards, HR policies, and operational procedures.
Advise business leaders on workforce planning, people matters, employee risk, and practical HR solutions.
Promote consistent HR practices while respecting cultural, legal, and operational differences across countries.
Qualifications: 5–7+ years of progressive human resources experience, including hands‑on HR operations and people leadership or increasing ownership of the HR function.
Direct experience supporting HR operations across multiple countries or jurisdictions is required.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, International Business, Law, or a related field.
MBA or Master's degree is an asset.
CHRP or CHRL designation required.
GPHR designation strongly preferred.
Solid knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR compliance requirements.
Experience working with international employment requirements and coordinating with local experts or providers.
Familiarity with cross‑border considerations affecting employment, compensation, equity, and mobility is an asset.
Experience supporting equity incentive or share option administration is an asset.
Experience managing or coordinating group benefits across jurisdictions.
Strong understanding of HRIS, payroll systems, HR data governance, and cross-border data privacy.
Familiarity with GDPR, PIPEDA, or comparable privacy frameworks is an asset.
Experience with Employer of Record (EOR) providers and international contractor arrangements is an asset.
Experience handling employee relations, workplace investigations, and complex HR issues.
Working knowledge of compensation, total rewards, benefits, and international mobility across markets.
Excellent judgment, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Practical, hands‑on approach with the ability to establish clear processes and work effectively with geographically dispersed teams.
Ability to balance global standardization with local legal and operational requirements.
Ability to work onsite in Ottawa, Ontario. The role is primarily office based.
Pay Range: The salary range for this position is CAD $90,000–$100,000, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
