Embark on a fulfilling journey as an Academic Advisor at the Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary. This full-time role focuses on guiding students through their academic pathways and supporting their success.
As a limited-term Academic Advisor for approximately 12 months, you will provide essential academic assistance to over 4,500 undergraduates and 2,000 graduates. Your expertise in program requirements, course selection, and institutional policies will foster student engagement and persistence. Collaborating with faculty and staff, you will resolve diverse registration issues while ensuring compliance with university regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive advising to prospective and current students
• Resolve complex registration and enrollment challenges
• Monitor student progress towards degree completion
• Respond to inquiries via email, virtual, and in-person channels
• Collaborate with campus partners on student affairs
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 2-3 years of academic advising experience
• Knowledge of academic regulations and policies
• Solid organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage diverse student needs effectively
