JOB SUMMARY
The Bond Specialist is responsible for performing trade and regulatory execution of writing and maintaining continuous bonds in the US and Canada.
Ensuring that client information is compliant with customs regulations and surety company requirements.
Ensuring all information is accurately recorded in the LII Operating system(s) which is transferred to Customs and Border Protections.
The Bond Specialist works in conjunction with the customers which include, CEO's CFO's customers banking institutions, etc.
Primary liaison for Surety Company, US Post Entry team, Client Financial Services, Customs and Border Protection, Client Experience, Sales, Revenue Management, US Regulatory Affairs, Operations Teams, and external parties as necessary to meet and exceed client deliverables.
The incumbent may specialize in one or more functional areas such as…knowledge of single entry, continuous bonds, or Canada Bonds internal operating systems, (Evolve and/or Smart border), and proficient in working in the Microsoft platform.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Initiation of continuous bond for the customer in accordance with Customs regulations (US & CA):
Obtaining bond coverage for all types of continuous bond related activities i.e., CARM, Importer, Drawback, Custodial, International Carrier, International Traffic, FTZ, Bond Reconciliation Rider, Airport Security, etc.
Secure required signatures and ensure the availability of required bond documents
Review bond application
Validate pricing and other required documents
Research and communication of any missing or incomplete information with CSM, Sales, and importers directly
Administer the continuous bond renewal invoicing process
Invoicing all new continuous bonds
Maintain existing customer bond account data including ensuring all customer accounts are aligned with CBP's system, name and address changes, adding co-principles, additional locations, users, Customs bond insufficiencies notices, and negotiated rates
Investigate client problems brought forward by either the internal staff or the client.
Support team members with training and assist with process-related issues.
Create and process required documentation as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Knowledge of Canada bonds, US continuous bonds and/or single-entry bonds
Knowledge of surety and liability requirements

WORK EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED

Salary ranges are established by location and reflect relevant factors such as skills, experience, and market conditions.
The good-faith salary range for this position is 39,370- 59,200 CAD.
Actual compensation will be determined based on these factors and may vary accordingly.
