Provide essential outreach services to Indigenous offenders as a dedicated Outreach Worker in Kamloops. Engage with community resources to support reintegration and life skills development.
This role requires deep connection with Indigenous culture and values while collaborating with the Kamloops First Nations Court and other agencies. You will assist with life skills training and advocate for individuals to meet their court conditions and improve their situations. Successful candidates will actively support community reintegration efforts and address barriers individuals face in accessing resources.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify needs of conditionally released Indigenous individuals
• Attend First Nations Court meetings and court dates
• Transport individuals to essential appointments
• Support client's Healing Plan through daily interventions
• Facilitate connections to community resources
Requirements:
• Degree/diploma in Social Work or related field
• 2-4 years relevant experience
• Extensive knowledge of Indigenous culture and values
• Experience with individuals affected by substance abuse
• Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license
Support Indigenous reintegration while fostering life skills and community connections.
