Support children and youth as a Part-Time Respite Worker with Strides Toronto. Provide critical supervision and development support in engaging respite programs.
This role involves working collaboratively with families and the Urgent Response Service team for up to 12 weeks, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients aged 0-18. With a focus on mental health and skill development, you’ll create tailored respite plans and maintain qualified standards adhering to relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise children and youth for safety in respite programs
• Support mental health and life skills development
• Maintain compliance with accreditation standards
• Develop customized respite plans with clients and families
• Document incidents and significant events accurately
Requirements:
• Diploma in Child and Youth Work or related field
• 1 year of related hands-on experience
• Knowledge of ABA principles and dual diagnosis
• Awareness of inclusion and equity practices
• Understanding of anti-oppressive frameworks
