Description: JCL427H1 - Advanced Topics: The Hispanic Caribbean Explores, in depth, a country in the Hispanic Caribbean or a theme relating to the Hispanic Caribbean. Topics vary each year and may include: Cuban society; Hispanic Caribbean revolutions; Hispanic Caribbean music, art and popular cultures; Hispanic Caribbean diasporas.
Schedule: Tuesdays, 3pm-5pm

*Please note, the delivery method for this course is currently In Person. The course delivery may change as determined by the Faculty or the Centre.
Sessional dates: January 1, 2027 to April 30, 2027
*Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum Qualifications Master and/or PhD in Literature, or related field
Description of Duties Develop a detailed syllabus and curriculum for the course
Plan and delivering in-person lectures for individual and group assignments and assessments
Design and invigilate assignments, tests and exams (if applicable)
Hold office hours and meet with students as they request
Manage course content and grades on Quercus, CIS and Emarks
Handleother pedagogical and administrative tasks ordinarily associated with an undergraduate course

This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
