Our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation.

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Material Handler / Saw Operator to join our structural steel fabrication operation. This position is responsible for safely handling, moving, staging, and loading structural steel materials throughout the beam yard, as well as operating industrial saw equipment to cut material to specified lengths.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working outdoors and around heavy steel products, forklifts,



overhead cranes, and industrial cutting equipment. Previous experience in a steel, metal fabrication, or manufacturing setting is an asset.

Shift: Alternating Day and Afternoon

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment.

Receive, move, stage, and organize structural steel beams and other materials.

Load and unload trucks while ensuring materials are properly secured and handled.

Operate structural steel band saws and related equipment.

Set up saws and verify material dimensions and cut lengths according to work orders and production requirements.

Read and interpret work orders, material lists, drawings, and measuring devices.

Identify and verify material type, size, grade, and quantity.

Perform quality checks to ensure cuts and material meet specifications.

Mark and identify material as required for downstream fabrication processes.

Maintain an organized and efficient beam yard and work area.

Complete production and material documentation accurately.

Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.Follow all company policies, procedures, and applicable Health & Safety requirements.





Work cooperatively with production, shipping, receiving, and supervision teams.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

Previous experience in a metal fabrication, steel service center, warehouse, or manufacturing environment is an asset.

Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes is preferred.

Experience operating industrial saws is an asset; training will be provided to the right candidate.

Ability to read work orders and accurately use tape measures and other measuring equipment.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to safely handle heavy materials and work in a physically demanding industrial environment.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Good communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Physical Requirements

Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and positioning of materials and equipment.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to work around heavy steel, moving equipment, overhead cranes, and industrial machinery.

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Ability to safely perform duties in a fast-paced industrial environment.
