Make a difference as a Family Resource Worker in Brandon! Support foster children, families, and foster parents while ensuring the well-being of children in care through your expertise.
Reporting to the Family Resource Supervisor, the Family Resource Worker plays a vital role in monitoring foster children’s development and safety. You will facilitate education for foster families, perform evaluations, and coordinate with community agencies to support child welfare. Build trusting relationships while directly impacting the emotional health and stability of children in foster care.
Key Responsibilities:
• License and monitor foster homes for compliance
• Conduct regular visits and safety assessments
• Provide training on child development and discipline
• Advocate for children's needs in care decisions
• Facilitate connections with community resources
Requirements:
• BSW degree preferred; related education acceptable
• Minimum of three years in child welfare
• Knowledge of CFS Act and Ojibwe culture
• Robust communication and time management skills
• Experience with First Nation communities an asset
