Job DescriptionTHIS IS A NIGHTS ONLY POSITION 7 pm-7amBIOVECTRA, now a part of Agilent, is recognized as a leader in the contract development and manufacturing space of active pharmaceutical ingredients specializing in clinical-to-commercial scale production for microbial fermentation, synthetic small molecules including ADC, HPAPI, plasmid DNA, mRNA, LNP and sterile filling capabilities. With over 650 employees at both the Windsor, NS and Charlottetown, PEI sites, BIOVECTRA supports over 100 clients, including over 20 top pharma and biotech companies.The Manufacturing Superintendent will supervise and lead a pharmaceutical manufacturing team in the various day to day functions and activities of GMP production, purification, isolation and packaging of synthetic chemical, natural extraction, and/or fermentation related products in a dynamic multi-product-based operation following all outlined safety practices, company protocols and objectives.The responsibilities will include:Overseeing team leads in accomplishing overall departmental production needs and reviewing work to ensure consistencyMentoring members of the production group and providing constructive inputReviewing the completed BPRs (ensuring all QCs, deviations, cleaning sheets, etc. are attached to the BPR, BPR lines are signed and verified, QA review items are resolved, and label requests have been completed)Assisting in updates on batch production records (BPRs) to optimize process efficiencies and to assist in developing new BPR’s or work instructionsSupporting manufacturing schedules through appropriate documentation and staging requestsEnsuring material and/or solvent counts are completed upon requestEnsuring the equipment and processing areas are in a ready state to meet the posted scheduleIdentifying, troubleshooting, and resolving equipment, process and facility issues as well as contributing to process risk assessmentsParticipating in the hiring, training,
and performance evaluation of employeesParticipating in regulatory inspections and auditsInteracting with multi-discipline units and personnel to ensure product quality and on-time delivery is adhered toFlexibility for after-hours consultation during manufacturing activities or during infrequent production activities will be requiredParticipating in client meetings and teleconferencesProviding guidance and oversight to a team of employeesWORK CONDITIONS: · Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts. · Heavy lifting required (50 lbs.). · Ability and willingness to work after hours and weekends if required.Required to use a respirator.QualificationsRequired:High School DiplomaOne year demonstrated technical experienceAbility to function and communicate in a dynamic, project driven team environmentExperience with various software programs, spreadsheets, and word processingDemonstrated mature judgement and integrity of sensitive and confidential informationHigh degree of self-motivation, independence, maturity, and decision makingDesired:Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a scientific fieldTwo years demonstrated leadership experienceTwo years GMP experience, protocols and FDA guidanceFive years of related technical experienceAdditional DetailsThis job has a full time weekly schedule.The full time equivalent pay range for this position is $93,521.00 - $146,126.00/yr CAD plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
