Electrical Designer
Overview
We have an exciting contract opportunity to join our global EPC client as an Electrical Designer

Responsibilities

Perform advanced electrical design calculations, including lighting, raceway and conduit sizing, wire sizing, voltage drop, cable pulling, panelboard sizing, breaker sizing, and junction box sizing.

Provide field engineering support during construction, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.

Develop and review electrical design deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and client specifications.

Utilize 2D and 3D CAD systems to support electrical design development and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Create and review designs using Hexagon Smart Electrical, Hexagon Smart Review, and 3D modeling platforms such as Hexagon Smart 3D.

Apply electrical design requirements and best practices related to grounding/earthing, lighting systems, power distribution, wiring, motors, conduit fill, panelboards, and hazardous area installations.

Interpret and apply electrical design guides, technical practices, standards, and engineering procedures throughout all phases of project execution.

Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure constructability, operability, and integration of electrical systems within plant and facility designs.

Qualifications

Diploma in a relevant technical discipline (or equivalent)



with 20+ years of related industry experience, or a combination of education and experience totaling 22+ years.

Robust technical knowledge and practical experience supporting engineering, design, construction, and industrial projects.

Proven ability to communicate effectively with management, clients, vendors, contractors, coworkers, and other project stakeholders.

Working knowledge of applicable local, provincial/state, and federal regulations, codes, and industry standards.

Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, maintain attention to detail, and deliver quality work in a schedule-driven workplace.

Knowledge of material selection, commercial availability, procurement considerations, and cost impacts.

Extensive practical field experience supporting installation, commissioning, maintenance, or construction activities.
