HEAD CHEF

Orangeville, Ontario | Full-Time | 44–48 Hours/Week

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join a warm, rustic and inviting dining establishment in Orangeville, Ontario.

This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who loves great food, fresh ingredients, scratch cooking and building a strong kitchen team. Our culinary philosophy focuses on quality, consistency and using locally sourced products whenever possible.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the overall operation and success of the kitchen, including:

- Lead, train, coach and motivate the kitchen team.
- Oversee daily food preparation, service and kitchen operations.
- Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, flavour, presentation and consistency.
- Develop seasonal menus, features and specials.
- Incorporate locally sourced and high-quality ingredients into the menu.
- Create and maintain standardized recipes and portion specifications.
- Manage food costs, labour, inventory and waste.
- Order food and kitchen supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Build strong relationships with local suppliers and vendors.
- Ensure proper food receiving, storage, rotation and handling.
- Maintain excellent kitchen cleanliness, organization and sanitation.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health and workplace safety requirements.
- Schedule and manage kitchen staff according to business levels.
- Train new employees and continually develop existing team members.
- Work closely with front-of-house management to deliver an exceptional guest experience.




- Maintain a positive, professional and respectful kitchen culture.
- Lead by example during busy service periods.
- Ensure opening, closing and cleaning procedures are consistently followed.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, Sous Chef or senior kitchen leader.
- Strong culinary and menu-development skills.
- Experience leading, training and developing a kitchen team.
- Knowledge of food costing, inventory control and portion management.
- A strong understanding of restaurant operations and kitchen systems.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- A passion for quality ingredients and scratch cooking.
- Experience working with seasonal and locally sourced products.
- A strong understanding of food safety and sanitation.
- The ability to remain calm, organized and hands-on during busy services.
- A professional, positive and team-oriented leadership style.
