AWS Dev Ops Engineer
POSITION SUMMARY
Adastra is looking for an Associate Dev Ops Engineer to join our AWS Practice and support cloud modernization, data platform, and migration initiatives. The role will focus on building and automating secure, scalable AWS environments, deployment pipelines, and cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
You will work closely with cloud architects, data engineers, and application teams to support reliable deployments and AWS-based solutions
Primary Location: Across Canada or USA
Work Model: Hybrid 1-Day Onsite per Month
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Develop and support CI/CD pipelines for cloud infrastructure, applications, and data workloads
- Automate deployment, configuration, and operational tasks using scripting
- Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including environment provisioning and deployment automation
- Deploy and support AWS services used in data platforms and analytics solutions
- Configure and troubleshoot AWS networking, IAM, compute, storage, and container services
- Support monitoring, logging, security, and operational best practices
- Collaborate with cloud architects, data engineers, and application teams
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 2–4 years of experience in Dev Ops, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related role
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, Cloud Watch, and ECR/ECS
- Experience with Terraform and/or AWS Cloud Formation/CDK
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI, or AWS Code Pipeline/Code Build
- Working knowledge of Docker and container-based deployments
- Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or Power Shell
- Good understanding of Git, branching strategies, and deployment workflows
- Basic understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking,
and least-privilege principles
- Exposure to AWS data services such as Glue, Redshift, Athena, EMR, DMS, or Step Functions
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams in a consulting environment
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience supporting cloud migration or data modernization projects
- Exposure to data lake or data platform architectures on AWS
- Exposure to Kubernetes or Amazon EKS
- Experience with monitoring or observability tools
- AWS certification such as Solutions Architect – Associate, Developer – Associate, or Sys Ops Administrator – Associate
- Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments
